Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence North America, North Kingstown, R.I., introduces a data-driven production solution for the marble and stone industry that integrates the portable ROMER Absolute Arm 73 Series with Alphacam Stone software from Vero Software.
The solution, with a fully integrated RS3 laser scanner in the Romer PCMM (portable coordinate measurement machine), allows users to capture intricately detailed part surfaces and converts point clouds into usable data for machining processes. The scanner can work with any 3D object, including statues and architectural piece, to enable precise CNC fabrication through the Alphacam Stone CAM software for restoration and repair work.
“The stone and marble industry can confidently move into data-driven production with this price/performing solution,” said Gene Daniell, Product Manager of ROMER Absolute Portable Arms, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. “From architectural to artistic applications, this innovative pairing of Hexagon technologies delivers high end capabilities such as laser scanning, 3D modeling, reverse engineering, tool path generation, measurement and inspection and more.
“The ROMER 73 series arm – Alphacam Stone package is offered at a competitive price point for stone fabricators looking for a comprehensive toolset that will help reduce costly machining mistakes and increase overall productivity.”
