ALPHA® PROFESSIONAL TOOLS, Oakland, N.J., offers Nichigo G-Tape™, a multi-purpose masking, hard-surface protection and repair tape.
Unlike ordinary paper-based masking tapes, G-Tape is a three-layer combination of high-density and low density-polyethylene, plus an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. The result is a durable, waterproof tape that’s highly weather- and UV-resistant to provide good surface protection.
The construction, however, also allows the tape to be easily hand-torn with straight, smooth edges. The adhesion also leaves no residue when the tape is removed, yet keeps strong-enough tack to be repositioned an almost unlimited number of times.
The tape is available in rolls of 2” width and 163’ lengths in two colors; the green is multi-purpose, and the white provides extra UV protection. It’s also available in a 2” wide, 82’ long roll in black-and-yellow for caution markings, and a 6” wide by 164’ long roll in all-black for large surface protection.
