MAPEI NORTH AMERICA, Deerfield Beach, Fla., introduces Planislope™ RS, designed to address the installation of a sloped mortar bed for tile showers.
Planislope RS is a rapid-setting, pre-blended polymer-modified mortar that includes a blend of select aggregates to provide fast turnaround times for installers who are pre-sloping under waterproofing membranes and thick-bed mortar installations. Because Planislope RS is rapid-setting, installers can set tile in one-to-two hours after application.
Planislope can be used for a host of interior/exterior residential and commercial installations beyond showers. The product is ideally suited for areas where floor flatness is critical, such as when tiles with an edge longer than 15” are specified. It can be applied in thicknesses ranging from ¼” – 3” and works on a variety of substrates including concrete, masonry cement block, cement backer units, ceramic and porcelain tiles and even wood frame floor systems.
