NEW RAVENNA, Exmore, Va., presents the Pinnacle collection, four designs chosen from submissions to the company’s first Mosaic Design Competition in honor of its 30th anniversary.
The designs represent two categories of submissions: Fine Art and Pattern. All are handcrafted in Virginia from stone, jewel glass and brass.
In the Fine Art category, the winners are:
- Moon Jellies, designed by Jacquelyn Bizzotto of Onancock, Va., was inspired by the Chesapeake Bay and is made of hand-cut glass;
- You Shape the World Around You, designed by Heather Green of Highland Park, Ill., is based on the artist’s meditative practice, and is constructed from multiple hand-cut stones.
In the Pattern category, the winners are:
- Canna, designed by Jessica Battista of Glastonbury, Conn., reflects the beauty of canna lily leaves and incorporates both hand-cut and waterjet-cut stones;
- Norris, designed by Zachary Bowen of Exmore, Va., stems from the artist’s interest in waterjet patterns and the machine’s ability to cut perfect circles, and is waterjet cut from natural stone and brass.
All are suitable for installations on walls and floors, indoors and out, except Moon Jellies, which is glass and can only be installed on interior vertical surfaces.
