Moving away from the surface at progressively steeper angles, one by one the stone tilts from floor to ceiling, revealing what appears to be a wall of marble ribs with an intensely contrasting pattern along the angled edges. Once the stone is passed, the optical eloquence fades away to be replaced by the muted elegance of the original stone.
