Since its founding Polycor, Inc. has committed itself to being the leading producer of world-renowned North American natural stones. Thirty years later, Polycor has distinguished itself on the international market and from its competitors by possessing some of the best-known and patrimonial stones in all of North America. Follow along as we share their journey.
Polycor Inc. was founded in 1987 in Quebec City, where its headquarters remain. It has since become the largest fully-integrated manufacturer and distributor of natural stone in North America today. This year it will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Since its inception, Polycor Inc. has set itself apart through innovation, and has carved out its position as a leader by growing through acquisitions. In September 2016, Polycor acquired Rock of Ages and Swenson, two major American companies.
Over the past 30 years, Polycor Inc. has breathed new life into the natural stone industry: establishing new practices, launching products, and upgrading equipment.
A Legacy of Innovation & Know-How
In the interest of remaining on the cutting edge, Polycor Inc. strives to be the chief innovator in an otherwise conformist industry.
“Our main desire at Polycor Inc. is to surprise. Through the inventiveness and modernism of our products, we hope to make the world fall back in love with natural stone,” says Patrick Perus, President of Polycor Inc.
From New York to Washington by way of Abu Dhabi, Polycor Inc. has contributed to architectural projects, heritage sites, and large buildings all over the world. At the other end of the spectrum, Polycor Inc.’s creative ideas and constant development of new products and innovative solutions make it possible to push the limits of natural stone for smaller scale projects, both residential and commercial.

The company now operates more than 30 quarries and 12 manufacturing plants in Canada and the United States, and has developed deep roots in the surrounding communities. As a major employer in these communities, Polycor Inc. is mindful of its role in their sustainable development (economic, social, and environmental).
